Haircuts all Around!

We all got a haircut today. Corbin sat still all by himself. Caura also did so well that no one believed us when we said it was her first haircut. After the haircuts everyone was ready for breakfast.

Caura was not so sure but she put her hands on her knees and sat very still. This is just before the first hair was cut. I almost cried.

Snip, Snip, Snip! She cut so little that she only charged us for a bang trim!

I told her not to cut ANY off the back beacuse I am afraid her curls will not grow back. She evened out the front and sides really well.

I don't think she recognized herself!

Caura was not so sure at first. Is she going to be as picky as her mom? I think so!

Caura moved her head each time she was asked to. She was so good.

Caura's new haircut makes her look more like a little girl and less like my baby. OK so I did have some tears at this point. She said "hair pretty" and then "thank you" to the hairdresser.

Kitchen Fire

Well on June 21 we had a kitchen fire that we think started on the stove top, not sure why. The sitter got the kids out and called 911. All is OK here at the Homewood Suites while our house is cleaned and our kichen, floors, ceilings, and some furniture get replaced or redone. I will post some pics later.

Today Caura was feeling so much better. She wanted to play but she was still getting IV fluids so she had the IV line to deal with. Thank you to United Regional for all the great toys they had. Chris and I pushed her around the hall most of the morning in this car. It was so relieving to see her feeling better so quickly.

Caura Resting

Caura began vomiting on the way home yesterday and when she became weak and kept vomiting after we got to the house we started to think soothing was wrong. Chris took her in to the doctor and she was admited to the hospitol this morning for dehydration.

Relaxing at the Cheesecake Factory after a grueling day of training in San Antonio!

Good Mornings.

This morning I did not get out of bed until 7:10 am. It was one of those special mornings taht Corbin decides to come in to my room around 6:30 am and cuddle with me. He came in this morning and snuggled up next to me and it went like this-
Corbin: "mom, MOM!"
Me: "yes, baby"
Corbin: "we are going to Big Mama's house in one week"
Me: "yeas we are. what are you going to do there?'

He stayed in bed quietly talking with me until I feared the sitter would get to the house I would not even be out of bed. (She comes at 7:15) I told Corbin that Sarah was about to be at our house soon and he sat up and said "Sarah! Let’s get up!"

Sarah is the new sitter and it has been a bittersweet week for me. On Monday when Sarah pulled up Caura saw her car and said "Jessica!" and started jumping up and down with excitement. As Sarah, who looks very different from Jessica, started to walk up to the house Caura got apprehensive. She did not cry but she was not comfortable. Corbin was even shy at first. He asked he on Sunday when Jessica was going to come play with him. I said 'I don't know" because I couldn't say "never because she chose to quite this job by not showing up and not giving you guys the opportunity to say good bye or phase her out". I am so angry with Jessica for the confusion she has caused my children. The great thing is they are young and Sarah is FANTASTIC! She is so kind to them and has a peaceful nature about her. While I was getting ready she read then five books and encouraged Corbin to replace a book before he got out a new one, and he did it! She even has horses and lives in the country. Corbin said "I love Sarah". I hope she will stay all summer and I hope we can find a good sitter for the fall and beyond.
